Welcome to Your Site Name!
Quite far from our southern cousins, five clans of wild cats make their home in a harsh northern climate, just below the tree line. Our ancestors have walked these snow covered lands for countless moons, and they leave us gifts. Warm fur, light bodies, and keen instincts will assure we never starve in the unforgiving north. SnowClan, GlacierClan, ArcticClan and IceClan roam the pine forests and snow covered plains. StarClan walks vigil above us, in the snow sprinkled lands of silverpelt. Despite our gifts, and our ancestors protection, life in the four clans is no easy task. We are the Clans of Winter, we make our home in the most fathomable and inhospitable place on earth.
The Clans have successfully made new territory in the new lands. Even so, the lands are still foreign to the cats, and all four clans would need time to be completely familiar with their new territories. Everyday the cats of the winter clans learn something new, about their lands, and about themselves. After a few moons living in the new area, the cats soon discovered that they truly are not alone in the forest - a twoleg facility have been quietly running; hidden in the valleys and cliffs of the mountains which shelters the cats from the outside world. How would the cats react to their twolegged neighbours? You decide.
The Genetically Modified Cats (aka. GEMs) are a strange breed of cats found hanging around near the white twoleg nest. Even though they look like normal cats, these cats are abnormally stronger and fiercer than other feral cats. They are rarely seen outside a group and are too dangerous to approach. No one knows where they came from or what are they except that they have something to do with the Laboratory.

Gingerpelt's eyes flickered, but she couldn't sleep. The loneliness was driving her insane. She knew that Wolfstar was loyal, but she had lost all her other friends. She only had about two children left, and she had lost her friends, Foxstar, Russetclaw, and Spottedleaf. She opened her eyes and rested her chin on her paws. From this view she could see the camp entrance. Did they make it here? I hope they're not lost in the skies. Gingerpelt shook her head and stood up. She padded to the main clearing, and sat down, her tail wrapped around her paws. She looked up into the skies and wondered if they could see her. She sighed and looked harder. "Please, Spottedpelt, Russetclaw, Foxstar. Let me know you're there." She dropped her head, disheartened. So instead she padded to the leaders' den to check on Wolfstar. She saw he was asleep, smiled slightly, and padded back to the warriors' den. When she rested her head back on her paws, sleep came easily, but she dreamt of nothing, and was disappointed when she awoke. When she had padded out of the warriors' den, she realized she was the first awake, and decided she'd wait to see who else woke up before she went out.

The nursery smelt clean and milky, and was almost sticky it was that hot. There was very little snow about this late into green-leaf, and Icekit didn't like it. She woke up, here long tortoiseshell fur pasted to her body in places with sweat. She hadn't slept well; Icekit had had a rather strange, but very realistic dream. In the dream, all of the clans decided to leave their homes and go on a journey. Icekit was walking beside a cat who she'd heard spoken of; Tunraheart. She was heavily pregnatnt with kits, ready to give birth at any moment. On the few occasions when Icekit had had the breath to speak to Tundrheart; the queen didn't aknowledge even hearing the kit. At another part of the dream, Tundraheart was lying on the cold floor of a clearning on a cliff side. She was struggling to breath and convulsing and sweating. Icekit knew that she was having her kits, she'd seen other queens give birth during her stay in Ice Clan's nursery. But something was wrong with Tundraheart, she kept convulsing after all of the kits were out, and could hardly breath at all. Icekit knew she was dying, and tried to help, again noticing that Tundrheart seemed not to hear her. None of the other cats paid any attention to Icekkit' shouts for help, but the small tortie tried to help the queen anyway. With her last breath, Icekit staining to hear, the dying queen named her four kits, but Icekit never managed to hear them before she woke. Icekit looked around her to check that she was in the nursery and not on an exposed clifside. Tgat dream was far too real, it was more like watching a memory. Icekit jumped up suddenly and pushed outside of the nursery. How could it be a memory that she'd dreamt? Icekit couldn't remember anything of her first five of so sunrises, and everythign she could remember had been isnide this camp. Maybe it was something which hadn't happened yet, like a premonition. Outside the nursery,Icekit was alone. She stopped in the middle of the camp and looked around. There was only one other cata awake, Gingerpelt one of the senior warriors. Icekit made her way over to where Gingerpelt was sitting. Icekit had decided to ask the experienced warrior what she knew of a cat called Tundraheart or any journeys which the clans had been on.

Gingerpelt's eyes were staring. When she noticed the little kit make her way over to the aging warrior, Gingerpelt jumped. "Hey, Icekit." She greeted the young kit warmly, "Why are you out here so early?" She bent down and licked the young cat's ears. Doing so reminded her of when her kits were in the nursery, young and innocent. She bit back grief as she remembered how some had died in the floods. She then remembered Russetclaw again, and stared up at the dying stars for a moment. When she looked back down, she was surprised to see the kitten. Then she remembered that the little kit had come over to see her.
Gingerpelt decided to lay down and look at the young kit. She could tell Icekit was itching to ask her a question. Gingerpelt bit back a purr of amusement. "Is there something you'd like to ask me?" She asked the young kit. She noticed the kit's fur was a little sweaty. Poor scrap, the nursery must be boiling in this weather, She thought to herself.

Icekit's long whiskers brushed ingerpelt's as she sat down nest to the ageing warrior. She'd never been good at masking her feelings, but there was time yet. Maybe in a couple of moons when she was given a mentor she could learn that too. It was never a good idea to show an opponent how truly terified you were, Cloverpaw had told her that after a battle with Snow Clan the other day. Icekit had acted out Sootstar while her adopted littermates were the Ice clanners trying to fight off the invading leader. She wondered if there was always lots of fighting or if the leaders and their clans could ever be at peace together. That made her think again of a great journey where all four clans were together, and the only casualty of them being togeter was their pride. 'I guess I am up early, but you are too. I woke up becuase of a dream. It was sort of a nightmare, but no because it was scary or anything. There was a queen in trouble, and allthe clans were together, on a cliff face. Was it a dream? It seemed so real...'Icekit brushed a stray tear of fear or regret from her face with a kitten soft tortie tail. Sure, it was bad when someone died, and a queen especially after just having her kits, but why did Icekit feel like this? It was like a part of her had died, Someone close to her...like if her mother were to die, but of course, Icekit ddin't have a mother. 'Her name was Tundraheart. Did you know her?'

Gingerpelt leaned down and licked the kit's ears. She knew what it was like having nightmares.Then she froze. Tundraheart? She knew that the kit had no idea, and she wondered how much to tell her. She looked down at the kit. "That was no nightmare." She started. Then she sighed. "Before I tell you anymore, you need to know this. I know this will be hard to share, but if after this, you need anyone to talk to, I'm always here for you." She gave the kit a small, sad smile, and continued.
"When you were born, it was difficult times. We were moving, because our territories had flooded during the Great Melt. Many cats died, but so did Tundraheart. Tundraheart..." Gingerpelt broke off. Did she need to burden this kit with this sad news? She decided if she didn't, someone else might, and they may not be as gentle. "Tundraheart was your mother." She meowed, and dropped her head. "She was a loyal, strong warrior, and she is watching you from Starclan.
"Icekit, she loves you, and she will always be watching you from Starclan. I'm sorry I was the one who had to break this news to you. But it's the truth." Gingerpelt stole a glance at the young kit, unaware how she would take it.

Icekit had turned her head to look up at the warrior as she started to answer the question. Icekit's pale blue eys met with Gingerpelt's as she listened. Beside her, she felt the fire coloured warrior tense. 'Tundraheart was your mother...When you were born it was difficult times...Many cats died.' Those words. Iceit suspected that she'd know all along. Why else the reoccuring nightmare? A dream so vivid, like a memory. 'My mother. Icekit knew that she couldn't just have come from nowhere, that she must have had a mother, but nobody had ever mentioned that her mother was a warrior from the clan, a casualty of a move she didn't remember.'Tundraheart was my mother...Did she die as soon as I was born, like in my dream? In my dream there were four kits, did they die because the strain of the journey? I'm an orphan.' The tiny kit could feel shivers running up and down her spine, but she'd no idea what they meant. Maybe it was time for her to get some answers, finding out something like that ought to give her some rights to know. 'Can you tell me abou her please? Did you know her well?' Now her smooth pelted tail was swishing with excitement and expectation. She wanted to know everything she could about her dead mother and the Great Melt which had taken her family from her.

Gingerpelt smiled at the kitten. She had taken the news better than Gingerpelt thought she would. "Your mother did die soon after your birth, I think. As for your siblings, I don't know what happened to them," She answered thruthfully. She knew Tundraheart had had four kits, but she didn't see them when Tundraheart was buried. Gingerpelt shook her head. She'd help the kit find the answers she seeked, but now it was time for a different story.
"Your mother and I weren't particularily close, but she was a friend of mine. She was one of the most loyalest cats I had ever met. I had gone on many patrols with her, and she always seemed to treat the whole clan as if they were her kits.
"I watched her give birth, you know. I saw you four, and I saw the love in your mother's eyes. She knew that her kits would be in good paws when she died, knowing that Iceclan would watch them. I sincerely don't know where your siblings are, but I'm sure they're safe." Gingerpelt nodded to herself.
At that moment, Gingerpelt realized how similar her and Icekit were. They had both lost their mothers at young ages, but the clan had helped them along. Gingerpelt's mother had died when she was a warrior.

Bid my blood to run
Icekit was frozen as she listened to Gingerpelt tell her about her mother. Gingerpelt didn't seem to know too much about Tundraheart, but Icekit was enthralled to learn anything she could about the parent who she'd lost. She wasn't just still like a statue; her blood seemed cold, like it had frozen in her veins. For Icekit to know that her mother was known as one of the most loyal cats, was like being thawed. She smiled at Gingerpelt adn shivers of anticipation ran down her spine all the way into her paws. Finally, after five moons of blank spaces, Icekit was beginning to learn about her family of mystery.
Before I come undone
'Do you know if the other kits survived? It seems strange that I should be here and the others aren't. I guess it doesn't make any difference, so long as they're safe and looked after wherever they are. It's such a shame that she died without seeing her kits, especially if she was the kind who gave out free love to everybody. I'd have liked to have met her.' Strangley, Iceit wasn't upset. She just felt hollow. She couldn't really mourn the mother who she'd never known. To her, it seemed cruel that such a likeable warrior had been taken away from her clan and kits. Icekit looked at Gingerpelt, waiting to see what else the warrior knew, and also because she had felt something about Gingerpelt after she'd finished speaking to Icekit.

Gingerpelt smiled at the young kit. she was happy the kit didn't seem angry about her not knowing all of this. Her smile slid off her face when she heard the next question. "I'm sorry, but I don't know if your siblings survived. I wish I had another answer for you, but I don't. If they survived, they may be in another clan, if they didn't, they're safe in Starclan with your mother." She shook her head. " I wish you could've met your mother too. But you are a lot like her. And I know you'll grow up to be just like her." She smiled and dipped her head to lick a tuft of moss out of the kit's fur. "I remember when my kits were as small as you. Ahh, Drumkit was always the loudest. Mousekit was so quiet, you'd think she wasn't even there. And Cottonkit... Oh Cottonkit reminded me so much of Russetclaw." She trailed off. She needn't burden the kit with her memories.

You've got to hold on ready or not
Icekit looked down when Gingerpelt answered her question. The young tabby had expected for them to be dead, after all, why else would they not be together here? She hadn't really considered that they could have ben seperated during the move. Maybe her three siblings had all survived and lived on to be Tundraheart's legacy. It was something to hope for that at least one member of her family survived. Her icy blue eyes were filled with tears when she looked up. They could represent anything; the pain of loss, the possibility of hope or even the anger she felt towards herself for not knowing anything. She smiled at Gingerpelt, looking into her eyes but not really seeing them.
You live for the fight
Gingerpelt was talking about her own kits. Icekit had never met any of them, but they sounded like a really amusing family. A family which had grown up together and had been allowed to love each other. A family which had known each others names. The bitter, jelous thoughts were so uncharacteristic to Icekit that she didn't recognise them for what they were. She blinked the lingering tears away and then tried to cover her cold thoughts. 'Are you're kits all warriors now? Were they naughty as kits like most of the little ones in the nursey at the moment are? I think it must be set in stone that kits should cause trouble for their queen. Although I don't remember ever being too bad...'

((PSSSSSSST!!!! AS the one who played Tundraheart, she was in Snowclan then left and came to Iceclan, her four kits were split between all the clans and will serve a purpose in the upcoming plot! thankies))
