When you're young you always think the sun in gonna shine
Rowanpaw led Cloverpaw into the sheltered den, taking most of her den-mates weight on her side. She hated to see anyone in pain, it just seemed so unfair. Cloverpaw had already been through so much...As they hobbled, Rowanpaw couldn't help wondering wha had happened, to have damaed Cloverpaw in such a grotesque way, and to have Coralpaw so traumatized that she could't speak. There were so many possibilities, yet so few. It could have been some kind of animal, but then, it probably wouldn't have left them alive. If it were the work of two-legs, then most likely, Cloverpaw would be trapped, not just injured and that still didn't explain Coralpaw's condition. Perhaps it was some kind of accident, maybe a rock fall...Whatever had happened, the most important thing would be for the two apprentices to heal under Wingedpaw's miracle-guided paws.
There'll come a day when you have to say hello to goodbye
In the medicine cat's den, Coralpaw and Cloverpaw were lay in moss and feather nests, with Rowanpaw's lithe figure stretched between the two, carefully grooming them both in turn. The intense severity of the situation had carved a deep 'm' shape into Rowanpaw's forehead, something rarely seen on such an organised, controled cat. As soon as she'd lain Cloverpaw on the nest, the small black-and-white apprentice had slipped into unconsiousness again, and Coralpaw was no diferent. Rowanpaw had thought of many possibilities, and voices some of them outloud, but this was only the worry talking; she knew that the only way to find out what had happened was to wait for either Cloverpaw or Coralpaw to speak. Instead, she turned her thoughts to possible cures for their injuries. Obviously there would be no way to save Cloverpaw's tail, but it was important that the bleeding stump didn't get infected, and that her friends were saved as much pain as they could be. So far, Rowanpaw had decided to look for cobwebs, popp seeds, lavender, marigold and juniper. As soon as someone else came to visit these two, she would head out to gather the much needed herbs. She could only imagine the quantities they would be need in.
Take these words, promise me, you'll live before you die
