The same tricks that once fooled me They won't get you anywhere
Ebonypaw's sleek black pelt sood out against the snow like a rabbit up a tree. It was a disadvantage he'd had to learn to live with. And now, after moons of training, he could be as invisibe against the background as any other, less conspicuous, cat could. Right now, Ebonypaw was stalking a mater vole who was nibbling on a stalk of some kind up ahead. His body was low, his weight equally balanced and he was creeping up to the vole in the shadow of an over-hanging glacier from the Falls. Shadows he was good at. He'd always lived in the shadow of his sister, Ivorypaw, who was better at everything than him except discretion. Where Ivorypaw would boast to try and wind him up, Ebonypaw would keep any achievement quiet. Why make a fuss? It only made people watch you all the time, including when you got things wrong. When Ebonypaw reached the edge of his cover, he pounced, swiftly killing the vole so that the nut went skittering across the snow and fell into the pool of iceburgs below. He picked the prey up and placed it next to a clump of snow disguised grass then kicked the white poweder all over it, ready to collect later once the hunt was over. No need to tell Tigerheart about every piece of prey he caught like Ivorypaw would.
I'm not the same kid from your memory Well now I can fend for myself
Ebonypaw carried on walking along the water-side path, along the inside next to the dark bark of the trees. He was scenting the air reguarly in search of more prey. It was harsh waether, ven for Leaf Bare, and there was very little prey offering itself up to be caught. He woul have to take anything which he could. At the narrowest part of the path, Ebonypaw stepped out of the dark and took in a deep breath of the icy air. It felt good when it hit his lungs, very refreshing, but also the taste of the air told his what he would be able to find. He froze, his mouth still wide open. Imediatley, he stepped back into the shadows of the trees and dropped low out of sight. His eyes widened and his ears flickered around. As quietly, but clearly as he could, he turned and shouted to the warrior a few paces behind, 'Tigerheart, you'd best come quickly. Call the rst of the patrol'. He knew he'd be scolded for instructing an older warrior, but this was important. Ebonypaw had scented ice Clanners. Several of them. On the Snow Clan side fo the Icy falls.
It's the best thing that could have happened Any longer and I wouldn't have made it

[tigerheart]Her body was crouched low to the ground as her ears flicked around, catching almost every sound that came at her. Her eyes remained locked upon the mouse as it scuttled about, trying to find food, not knowing it's life was about to end. Her ears flicked back, then up, her eyes never wavering as she bunched her muscles, springing towards the mouse. Her claws caught it, her body rolling over, tossing the mouse into her mouth. She landed on her paws, teeth sinking into the small body and crushing the spine. A smirk spread across the she-cat's face as she held the mouse in her mouth, then turned back towards where she instructed to place all the prey the group had caught. Shy and not outspoken, there wasn't much Tigerheart said to others, but put her in charge of a patrol and she'd be a silent leader, but also very stern. Her tail flicked back and forth behind her as she dropped her prey beside Ebonypaw's as the apprentice returned.
Remembering Sootstar's words to her before they had left. She was to assess the apprentices to see how they were doing so far. Her paws took her forwards, following behind the black male, her tail swaying behind her slowly as she yawned slightly. She paused as she lifted her head, catching a scent that shouldn't be there. Right before Ebonypaw called out to her. Cursing under her breath, she trotted forwards. "Go back and gather them, Ebonypaw. I'll check to see who's there" She said quietly, flicking her tail across his muzzle to quiet him, then crouched down, slipping forwards, closer to the border between their two clans.

[Iceclan]
And the [Pheonix] will rise again]
Long orange fur flashed through the forest, at the edge of the river. Her long talons slid into the ice as she skidded to s stop at the edge of the river. She knew where she was and what she was doing, but Iceclan was a large clan, and they needed more land. Not to mention this long time of peace was bound to end some time. Why not get it started and win some new land for Iceclan. She smirked and lifted her head to taste they air. She couldn't smell a Snowclan patrol but the wind was blowing from behind her. She shrugged and took the step that would change everything. She moved leaped, her body sailing through the air and landing gracefully on the other side of the river. She looked up seeing the Icy falls and she smiled lightly. Soon both sides will be ours...then our clan will prosper. She thought. She scanned the area around her and satisfied it was safe to start moving the border she flicked her tail to the to the others and began to move to the edge of the trees to mark the territory.
And let the [Ice] harden your heart
Icestorm flicked her tail and watched Phoenixfeathers leap the river. She hid in the undergrowth on the Iceclan side of the border and waited for the signal. She wished more of her clan was here, but she figured anyone who showed up her and Phoenixfeathers could handle them. Snowclan wasn't that tough. She smirked and lifted her eyes. There is was. she stood and raced to the edge of the river and lifted her gray tabby body over it in a graceful arc. She flicked her tial landing beside Phoenixfeathers. This had been her idea, but she knew she never would have done it if Phoenixfeathers hadn't agreed to it. She flicked her ears and then paused turning to Phoenixfeathers. "I don't think we are alone." She mewed softly so that only the other she-cat could hear her. But instead of call out the Snowclan warrior watching them, she walked over and began marking out a new territory. She smirked and flicked her ears ready to fight when the warrior did emerge.
[Snowclan
And the [Moon] will shine on us
Her eyes narrowed as she stalked her prey. She wasn't going to let it get away. She flicked the tip of her tail and leaped forward. The blackbird saw her and lifted itself in the air, but Mooncrystal was prepared she hit the ground and immediately sprang into the air off the ground and closed her claws into the birds flesh pulling it back toward the ground and taking it's life with a swift bite to the throat. She carried the bird back to the clearing where Tigerheart had ordered them to hold the fresh-kill until they headed back to camp. She nodded to Tigetheart and trotted after her. She sighed and lifted her nose to the air. Her eyes narrowed and a snarl erupted from her throat. They thought they could challenge Snowclan eh? She stepped up next to Tigerheart and dug her claws into the ground. "I've been itching for a fight, this could be good." She whispered seeing only one she-cat she was saddened, but when the other joined her a smile lit her face. "After you Tigerheart." She mewed and lashed her tail.

How the hell did we wind up like this?
Ebonypaw hissed quietly at his paws. Everything he did somehow turned out to be wrong. He wasn't stupid. He knew that any noise to alert the other embers of te partol would risk the invaders attacking before Snow Clan could take the advantage. But what was he supposed to do? Turn his back on vicious Ice Clanners who were here for a fight and stroll over to Tigerheart to tell her? He'd tried to be as quiet as he could. He wished that he could have any sister than Ivorypaw. He wished he had been born to anyone other han Twinkletoes. With that pair of perfect models as his family, the expectations were sky high. It was his title in his dreams, what everyone whispered about him, 'The stupid, useless aprentice who's grandson of the ledgendary deputy. He's an embarassment to the clan, not an asset.'
Why weren't we able to see the signs that we missed?
The small pale tabby climbed out of the water, her cream and chocolate pelt stuck to her making her seem thinner adn scrawnier than she really was. Her azure eyes wiened, trying to take in as much of the Snow Clan scenery as she could. As she leapt up to where Icestorm waited, she smiled and briefly shook her pelt. Today she would make her dead mother proud. She would serve her clan and help to provide for them for generations to come. Just like the perfect warriors do. She kept low, moving slowly, aware of every noise which she made, which was few. Her youth and natural agility soon had her at the spearpoint of the patrol, and she found herself sheathing an unsheathing her claws as she weaved through the sparse trees. All of her senses were alert for signs of Snow Clanners. So far, there were none.
And try to turn the tables
Ebonypaw's large black figure would easily have been seen dancing through the snow while he searched out the otehr patrol members f he wasn't so alert. Despite how fast and gracefully he moved, he still managed to look like a shadow beneath the trees an rocks. While he carried out this dty, he treid to think of nothing toher thant he battle combinations he'd learnt, copied and developed. It helped to keep his mind of his mistakes, although they took up a large proportion of his thinking space. Once he'd found the whole patrol and passed on the message, he returned to where Tigerheart and Mooncrystal were preparing to attack. He kept quiet and just listened, trying to take in as much of their plan as possible. When all of the hastily created arrangements were made, he fell into the formation where he would be most useful. This was his opportunity to prove himself to himself, and he would make the most of it, taking down as many damned Ice Clanners as he could, whatever it cost him.
Now the story's played out like this, just like a paperback novel
Icepaw glanced at Phoenixfeathers, smirking at how at ease he already seemed while marking the trees this side of the border. It was about time that border was moved. Snow Clan was much smaller in numbers than Ice Clan, and were hardly ever seen makin use of the resources here anyway. Ice Clan would make far better use of the Icy Falls. Seeing no signs of a battle party, or even a normal border patrol, Icepaw brushed against Icestorm and began to whisper to her. 'I don't think that they really want this waterfall anyway. Look, they're not even defending it, even when they must knew that we want this piece of territory. My guess is that we will be freely hunting here, with true allowance by sunset. Even if they do bother trying to fight us off, we're easily strong enough to beat them. Snow Clanners are way too timid, they're always too busy diging frozen mice out of their borrows to care. '[/i] Having never been in a battle before, it had been hard to say that the small tabby was violence inclined, or blood-thirsty. She simply believed in defending was was rightfully hers, or Ice Clans. She'd alrady decided that the war was won.
Let's rewrite an ending that first instead of this Hollywood horror
