Name: Legacy
Gender: tom
Age: 20 moons
Clan: Loner
Rank: Leader
Description: A very high-pedigree bengal. A clear gold background coat with large tri-colour rosettes (chocolate, rusty brown, and creamy gold), a longish, thick tail, and large creamy whisker pads. He has huge golden eyes that seem to have endless depths, and yet they are unreadable. He is a big cat and was originally mistaken by the clans for a wildcat. His paws are huge because they need to sheath his huge claws, and he can pad with absolute silence through the forest. It has been 13 moons since he was a kittypet, and that chapter of his life is long forgotten. The only thing he learned from that time and cares to remember is that every bengal is very closely descended from a pure wildcat, and his line was extremely new: his pedigree is almost half wild. He is thickset with wide, powerful shoulders and thick fur that ripples over his muscles as he moves. He is a very impressive, regal looking cat that will not soon be forgotten by anyone who sees him.
Personality: Beneath that beautiful but intimidating wildcat outside, Legacy is a sharply intelligent, experienced, and streetwise cat who knows how to survive in nearly any situation. His mind is strong and he has faced trauma, grief, pressure, all-out terror, and heavy responsibility before without faltering. He thinks deeply but acts quickly, and has a talent for reading cats when he first meets them. While Legacy is extremely caring and honourable, he can be impatient and does not suffer fools. He sees betrayal as one of the worst crimes possible, and will not tolerate arrogance for long. He is a born leader, though, and when he sees any cat as under his protection, whether they know it or not, they are as safe as he can possibly make them, for as long as he can watch over them. Legacy doesn't enjoy taking orders, and would prefer to strike out on his own than follow the lead of any cat who does not show him respect. It's a flaw, as learning to take orders might have helped him in life, but it's part of who he is, passed down to him by his wildcat ancestors. One last thing: Legacy never forgets. He may not hold a grudge, and he may have forgiven you 10 moons before, but if he suspects that something is once again afoot, do not think he has forgotten what he says nothing about.
History: He was born a kittypet ("Cocoa Cats' Jungle Legacy"), but, though he was very proud of all his ribbons and 'best bengal' awards, the life bored him. After he met Greenrush, a pedigree somali who ran away as a kitten, he decided to follow her example. Never one to do things quietly - everything had to be extravagant with him - he splattered mouse blood and bits of his fur from his last grooming in the back corner of his garden, scoring deep claw marks into the dirt and into the bark of the corner's tree. Then he easily climbed the tree, leapt down ont he other side, and left.
He found a newspaper a few days later. His small town's pride and joy was their award- and fame-winning bengal breeders' cattery - Cocoa-Cats. So (though of course he can't read) he was not surprised to see a picture on the front page of his owner crying and holding up pictures of him and some of his biggest ribbons. He knew she was only acting, however - Cocoa-Cats' Glitter Girl had always been her favourite, and if it wasn't for his excellent pedigree, he would have been out on the street long before.
Which would actually have been nice.
He was rejected by the clans because they thought he was a wildcat, and because he was reluctant to be respectful to the hostile, unfair leaders who ordered him to be driven away without even talking to him. He figured the life would bore him anyways. He became a loner - like his wildcat ancestors - and wandered on his own for a while, getting used to life int he wild and learning the territory. He found he was very good at being a loner. He eventually met a group of other loners and became good friends with them, and from some of their past experiences he learned to respect the clans and understand why they had been so hostile towards him. He had good dealings with certain clan cats after that, and recognized that they were all in the same boat, generally: protecting their territory and loved ones from the elements, from outsiders, and from the rogues. He is an aquaintance of GlacierClan leader Sapphirestar through his friendship with some of her loner-born warriors, and he helped the clans escape the flood, saving the life of a clan apprentice. He travelled with them to the new territory, as did his group of loner friends. He developed close ties with the clans on the journey, though many warriors are still wary of his barbaric appearance.
Relationships: Legacy has a close-knit group of loner friends, as well as some tentative friendships within the clans (and a few close friendships within GlacierClan). He has no mate and never knew his parents, having been bought as a kitten to be a "stud" at a bengal cat breeder. He once had a mate, Thylacine, but she died only a few months later. He has no kits and doesn't know his siblings. He considers his loner friends his adoptive siblings, Aersei and Inktears in particular. He has a very close friendship with Inktears, as he saved her life after she thre herself into the river in IceClan territory.
Role-Play: [this is modified from prep. and journey, WC's greatest-ever thread [[woot! taco cookies all around. okay...]]...yeah.]
Legacy strode forward. "So we meet again, Ripper." He mewed quietly, and all movement stopped. He was a little over half the wolf's size, and despite the still huge gap between the wolf's size and his own, he was large in comparison to the other toms. "I think you remember me, though possibly not all that fondly? In any case, it is you who forced us to meet again, and I'd prefer to keep it is short as possible. So, if you will...?" His eyes narrowed and his muscular body tensed. He hissed savagely, with all the ferocity of his african wildcat ancestors. His lineage came from the loners who roamed LionClan's lands, and he fought with their strength.
The wolf's eyes narrowed as he glanced down at the scar on his chest. "Ah, Legacy. I owe you..."
Legacy grinned at the wolf as they locked in battle. "It's alright. I forgive your debt." He raked his claws across the wolf's mzzle before continuing, "It's part of the warrior code, you know, to forgive debts - not that I'm a clan warrior, of course, but I'm a cat, so I know the code. Oh - I forgot. You don't know what I'm talking about, do you?" He twisted around behind the wolf and yanked on his tail with his teeth, making a disgusted face and spitting out wads of dirty, matted fur. "Poor, slow Ripper - it takes you so long to catch on. Even now, it hasn't quite registered yet, has it? You're going to lose, Ripper. You're going to pay. You're going to pay for Thylacine." With a bloodcurdling yowl, filled with all the pain he had felt losing his mate, the beautiful egyptian mau Thylacine, he launched himself at the wolf, claws outstretched.
The wolf met him in a clash of claws and ripping teeth, and Legacy began taunting his opponent, making him madder and madder. The madder the wolf got, the harder and more dangerously he fought, but Legacy didn't care. He enjoyed making the wolf mad. It would make his victory and revenge all the more sweet. He raked his claws across the wolf's face, and felt warm lifeblood spurt where his claws had sunk into the wolf's eyesocket. As the wolf howled in pain and turned to flee, Legacy leapt to pursue him, but Inktears' voice held him back.
"Don't Legacy. Let him run like the coward he is. You have done enough," She told him.
"It will never be enough." Legacy hissed under his breath, but he recognized Inktears' wisdom (she was the only one who could successfully tell him what to do) and he sat, panting, and watched the wolf's fleeing figure as it disappeared into the underbrush, leaving a scarlet trail of blood on the leaves in its wake.
