The siblings lay, curled around the other, the dark-colored deputy resting his head on his half-sister's back while the tabby stroked her tongue over his back. It had been the first time since they had returned that the two had been able to sit down and talk to each other, and both had great news. Lynxpounce's face was bright and happy as she nuzzled Taintedfaith's ears. He smirked slightly before opening his eyes and looking up at the she-cat. "Have you told Poisonhealer yet?" The deputy asked, turning his head slightly to look up at the tabby, her bright blue eyes looking down at him as she paused, then smiled sheepishly, squirming slightly. The deputy laughed softly at her discomfort at his question. Of course not. "Do I even have to ask if you've told your father yet?" Another sheepish smile spread across her face as she nipped lightly at his neck fur.

"I haven't gotten around to it yet.. But I will! I promise!" Lynxpounce said, shaking her head, then rested her head on his back and looking down. "I can't believe i'm going to be a mother. And Poisonhealer! I'm not sure how he'll react, but I'm hoping he'll be happy" She said, rolling her shoulders slightly. The deputy just laughed quietly as he shook his head, rolling onto his side and making the tabby move slightly, glaring playfully at him as he smirked back at her. "And what about you, mister dad. Should't you be canoodaling with your mate, hm?" She asked, nudging him with a slightly smirk, tickling his belly as she draped her paws over his stomach.

His eyes closed, Taintedfaith batted at his sister's paws, shaking his head. "Oh, hush. She's busy. And still won't let me do much till Midnightdawn gives the okay" He replied, rolling his eyes. After that, the two of them laid int he sun, just enjoying each other's company.

"Did I hear my name?" Midnightdawn wandered over to the pair. "I heard the word kits and Midnightdawn giving the okay. Taintedfaith, are you pregnant?" She grinned before looking at Lynxpounce. "Seriously, congratulations. You're probably due in a couple of moons." She licked the she-cat on the head, before turning back to the deputy.

"Would you like me to look at your wounds? I think you're almost okay, maybe just a day more rest, if you would let me look at them." She licked her paw as she waited for the tom to stand.

Life was good in Glacierclan. There were no illnesses, no bad wounds escept for Taintedfaith's whose wounds were healing well. She smiled to herself, proud that the clan had been able to keep peace for so long. She looked from Lynxpounce to Taintedfaith, and remembered the time when Midnightdawn and Sapphirestar were discussing the fate of her apprentice, and the deputy, when the deputy came storming in. It put a smile on her face to see her best friend reunited with her love.

But when she found out that Silentpaw had not returned, a pain had pierced her as sharp as a thorn. She had to blink back a tear, remembering. But she had Chikorypaw now, who was in the den, sorting herbs. Silentpaw, wherever you are, have peace. Your clan is well ooked after. I know that's what you would have wanted. A single tear dribbled off her face, and she shook her head to rid of it.

The deputy's deep-throated laugh came from between his lips as he looked up at Midnightdawn, raising his tail to brush affectionately across the she-cat's cheek before he sat up, ignoring Lynxpounce as she protested, and the bat across his ears. He shook his head, then turned his eyes up towards the medicine cat, a cheeky grin spreading across his features. "I think I might be, Midnightdawn. I'm cranky and moody and acting like Lynxpounce here" He said, mewling in protest as his sister shoved his shoulder. He turned to glare at her as she smirked. She rolled her eyes, sitting up as Midnightdawn spoke to her. A smile broke out as she brushed her tail across her stomach. Oh, kits. How she would adore them.

"Thank you for telling me." The tabby said with a slight grin, sticking her tongue out childishly at her brother before she curled her tail around her paws, watching as he laid back down. Her brow furrowed slightly at the pained expression upon the deputy's face. She wanted to say something, but Taintedfaith took the moment to speak to Midnightdawn .

"I think the wound on my leg might have gotten some sort of infection. Its been stiff and mostly numb for the past few days" He informed the medicine cat, looking up at her with a curious expression. As he saw the tear slid down her cheek, he immediately shot up, wrapping his tail around her shoulders and giving her a hug, worry etched on his own brow. "Hey, hey. Its okay, Midnightdawn. Silentpaw wouldn't want you crying over her. Just remember her spunk" He said, pulling back and touching his nose to her forehead. "Its not your fault she's gone. I was the one caring for her, and in turn, it was my fault. Which means you shouldn't feel the guilt" He murmured softly, not allowing his own emotions to flow for the loss of the daughter he barely knew.

Midnightdawn turned to Lynxpounce and smiled. "I'm glad to tell you. We need more young ones running around." turning back to Taintedfaith, she examined him. "No, you're not pregnant, thank Starclan, but your leg is worse. What did you do, roll around in mud or something?" She grinned. "No worries, I can clean it up."

She went to trot back to her den for herbs, but stopped as she heard Taintedfaith's words. "There are days, though, when I walk into the den, and look for Silentpaw, but she's not there. It's killing me, not having her around. But she hasn't even visited me, which is the worst part. And it's not your fault, either. I'm sure she wouldn't want you blaming yourself." She let another tear slide down her face as she pressed into her friend's side. She returned the hug, before she cleared her throat. "When your leg is healed, Sapphirestar, you and I should all go for a walk. I know we all have things we need to talk about." She dipped her head before trotting away.

Before she entered her den, she cleared her throat and put on a happy face, not to worry Chikorypaw. "Hey! I've got to get herbs for Taintedfaith. Keep sorting, you're doing a great job." She flicked the little cat's flank with her tail before padding into the herb store. Picking up the herbs she needed, she backed out of the den and trotted back to the siblings. "Here, lie down and I'll clean it up." She chewed up the marigold and placed it across the wound, adding some cobwebs to hold the herbs in place. "Now, don't leave camp and I'll check it tomorrow. It should be better." She sat down again. "Do you want me to fetch anyone or anything for either of you?" She asked, licking a paw.

His mind soared with the promise of the new day. He flicked his ears as he heard the voices of his mate, her brother, and the medicine cat outside the warriors den. He couldn't hear what exactly they were saying but he knew the buzz of voices well. He smiled to himself and stood letting his muscles stretch over tired bones. He had been out late the night before on the moon high patrol and then sat vigil for an exhausted Sapphirestar. The whole clan was buzzing with new life. He knew it as well as any. Spring was just around the corner and kits were soon to be born. He flicked his ears again and stretched long. He flicked his long tabby tail and made to make himself presentable.

"I thought I heard the beautiful voice of my mate!" Me mewed slipping out of the warriors den and into the sunshine of the afternoon. He smiled as He watched Midnightdawn treat Tiantedfaith. He dipped his head to the deputy in respect before looked at his mate. She had been gaining a few pouds this winter. He would never say something, not to a she-cat. ONe never mentioned the gaining of weight to a she-cat. It could crush them. He smiled and licked her between the ears. "You are looking beautiful on this fine day love."[/color] he mewed and glanced at Midnightdawn. He knew something was up, but he couldn't put his paw on it. "Would it be alright if Lynxpounce and I went out hunting? She should be recovered from her journey by now shouldn't she?" He may not tell her she was gaining weight, but he wasn't going to let her sit around being lazy all day.

Sapphirestar moved over to the edge of her den. She had a pounding headache, and was nausiated all the time. no matter what she ate. She rolled her eyes and lifted her head at the pounding voices outside her den. She lifted herself slowly and had to suck in a breath to keep from purging her empty stomach. She flicked her tail and looked up at the rock ceiling of her den. "If this is your punishment for WANTING to have Tain's kits...I can't imagine what it would be if I actualy got pregnant." She flicked her ears and slid out of her den, the blinding flash of light hitting her face and searing into the back of her skull. She groaned a little and stood still for a moment catching her breath and letting her eyes open a little at a time as they became accustomed to the sun. She saw Midnightdawn with her love and moved slowly, sluggishly across the clearing. She saw Poisonhealer enter the circle and speak just as she did. She flicked her tail and waited until he was finished. "Midnightdawn, would you be so kind as to find me SOMETHING to get rid of this aweful headache...it feels like a badger is using my head for a chew toy."[/color] She mewed and her eyes told just how much pain she was in.

Yes, She was the leader, but that didn't mean she couldn't have an off day...alright so it had been a few days. She flicked her tail in irritation at the pain and looked at Lynxpounce and then at Poisonhealer. She knew, from his question she hadn't told him yet. She let a smile light her face, but the effort was too much and again she took a deep breath. Again she held back from purging her empty stomach. "And if you have ANYTHING to stop my cuhrning stomach enough so I can concentrate on the tasks for today? I would greatly appreciate that as well."[/color] she said. She flicked her ears and moved to lay down with a huff besid eher mate and deputy. She had to pull this together before the clan saw her like this. She had ceremonies to think about. She hadn't even thought about names for Shadepaw, Snowpaw, and the other apprentices yet. She sighed and looked up at Taintedfaith wondering if he had any ideas.

The smile remained plastered upon her face as Midnightdawn spoke to her. As the medicine cat went to go get the herbs, the two bickered at each other, Lynxpounce popping Taintedfaith over the head again about his comment, wanting to stick his tongue back into his mouth. And this was the Clan's deputy? acting like a young apprentice? She rolled her eyes slightly, stepping back as the medicine cat came back, tending her brother's wound. The deputy let out a slow breath as she spoke again, closing his eyes for a moment as he felt the medicine soak into his wound. He was silent for a moment longer before he lifted his head, smirking as Posionhealer approached them, Lynxpounce's face brightening as she turned to tackle her mate, covering him with affectionate licks.

"I'm fine! But, yes! I have something to tell you. Midnightdawn already gave me the okay." Lynxpounce said, then bounded off the tom, licking his cheek. He butted his brother on the shoulder, then turned towards Sapphirestar as she approached, bowing her head, but giving the leader a look of concern, then she turned towards Posionhealer, nipped his cheek, and raced off towards the camp entrance, pausing at the mouth and looking back at him, raising a brow. "C'mon, slowpoke. Gonna leave me hanging here?" She asked with a smirk, tail flicking back and forth.


Taintedfaith raised his head at the approach of his mate, brow furrowing in concern. She didn't look good. Quickly rising to his paws, even though pain shot through him, he slipped around her, not caring at the moment that the Clan could see. It was more then obvious now what the two were to each other. He brushed his muzzle over her ear, looking up at Midnightdawn. "I'll probably be clawed over the ears with this, but you look terrible, love." He said, biting his lip as he brushed his muzzle over her forehead, hoping to comfort her. He lifted his tail, draping it over her back as he turned his attention around the camp, then back onto her.

No, he hadn't seen her in a few days, which concerned him. But he didn't say anything else, waiting for Midnightdawn to get what she was asked of, his tail slipping over her back to help sooth her some.

Midnightdawn laughed as Lynxpounce chased Poisonhealer. "Alright! But be careful!" She didn't want to spoil the secret, but she didn't want Lynxpounce overdoing it and hurting the kits. Turning back to the leader and deputy, she gasped slightly as she saw the state Sapphirestar was in. "Oh my Starclan. This is sudden." She murmured, before turning and racing back to her den. She knew a pounding headache would need to be taken care of, because it really messed with emotions, and everything else. She skidded to a halt suddenly, and thought. Headache, nausea, sleeping alot, churning stomach.... Oh my Starclan! Midnightdawn felt a grin spread across her face as she fetched the herbs. "Saph, lie down on your side, I want to look at your stomach first." She set down the herb packet as she returned to the pair, and felt the she-cat's stomach. "My Starclan, I was right." She grinned at the pair and murmured, "Saph, come with me, I need to talk to you in private." She grinned again as she took a few paces away from Taintedfaith so he couldn't hear them.

His eyes lit up as Lynxpounce leaped to her feet, and tackled him. He smiled as she covered his face in licks, but he did not fight her off. She bounded off of him, and he rolled to his paws shaking the dust, snow, and moss off his neatly groomed pelt. He smirked at his mate as she called back to him, and flicked his tail in understanding to Midnightdawn. [color=green"Don't worry, I won't let her do too much."[/color] He said and with his tail high in the air he trotted to the entrance taking his time, and not rushing. She may have gotten the okay from Midnightdawn, but that didn't mean he would let her risk her health just to show him how well she was. He shook his head a sly smile crossing his face. He looked at her and winked lightly. "First one to the Starlight creek, gets the best catch of fresh kill!!" he didn't wait for a reply but rather dropped his tail and streamed off toward the creek, like a flash of lightning. He was quick on his feet, but he knew on a normal day Lynx could beat him in a race with a rock tied to her tail. He was hoping that was still the case. He flicked his ears back trying to hear if she was behind him. Poisonhealers eyes stayed focused on the path in front of him, his eyes taking in every twig, dip, and rock in his path. He moved like light bending around the obstacles without losing a hair of speed. he saw a large branch in his path. He took in the distance, and in less than a heartbeat he pressed his weight into his paws and then pushed off the ground.

Poisonhealer tucked his front paws up to his chest and let his back legs stream out with his tail behind him. A glorious sight was he, sailing through the air like a bird. His front paws brushed the branch top and he pulled them closer to his body. He was over and heading down toward the ground with a mouselength to spare between his back legs and the branch. He stretched his front paws toward the ground and pulled his back legs forward, just as his front paws caught the ground. Back legs flew past front and he was off running again, a perfect landing without a loss of speed again. He came to another branch but this one was too high to jump. he looked around it and there towards the side was ice. he let a smirk light his face and flicked his ears back to hear Lynxpounce again. Without warning he swerved to the side, ducked onto his belly, tucked his head and paws to his chest and slid under the branch with a mouslength to spare between his fur and the branch. He lost a little speed here, but leaped to his feet and streaked off toward the creek. He was sure Lynx was right on his heels.

Her eyes crossed at the prospect of moving. She watched Midnightdawn leave and then return. "On my side? What in Starclan's name..." She thought, but she obliged. As she lay on her side, her bounding head on her mate's paws she thought about her clan. What was she thinking, trying to get pregnant. She had a clan to lead. How could she lead them if she was stuck in the nursery for moons at a time. She rolled her eyes but the effort was painful. She could barely hear the request from Midnightdawn. She nodded slowly, but as she tried to rise her stomach churned again. She fell back on her side and looked at Midnightdawn. "I think that anything you say to me can be said in front of Tain." She mewed and layed her head on her paws. "But please...speak softly."[/color] She mewed and flicked her tail around her slightly. rounded belly. She had been gaining weight she knew, but she was aware, that she hadn't done much work. She flicked her ears and the effore sent a shooting pain through her head and she whined slightly.

"Be quick Midnightdawn, I need those herbs...before my head explodes." She said and looked at her mate. She needed his warmth beside her. She wanted to have his kits, but she didn't know if she could take this punishment from starclan, just for talking about it, and trying once. She sighed and looked at her paws ashamed of her cowardice. He had traveled moons to find the mother of his daughter, to have questions answered, and she couldn't do one thing for him? She shook the thoughts from her mind realizing to late that she should move her head as little as possible. She felt the nausea as soon as she moved her head, and the pain crippled her. She leaned forward and purged her already empty stomach. she looked up at her mate and the medicine cat and felt embarrassment and humiliation creep up her body. She felt heat in her ears, and flicked them back. "Sorry..."[/color] She murmured and pushed some snow over the offending pile. Her headache was still there but her stomach felt a little better.

Midnightdawn turned and walked back, sitting down. "Taintedfaith, Sapphirestar-" Midnightdawn had gotten cut off by Sapphirestar and grinned. "Oh yeah, right." She passed the herbs over and meowed, "Eat these herbs, they'll make you feel better." As she watched her friend eat the herbs, she continued. "You two are going to make fantastic.... parents!" She meowed in a low whisper, but added excitement to the last word. "Who knew, so many pregnancies... Glacierclan is so lucky!" She smiled and nuzzled the pair of them, before leaning back to let them react.

She knew they would make fantastic parents. They were loyal, trustworthy, reliable, and she could always count on them to make her feel better about everything. She grinned again, unable to wipe it off her face. She was so happy for them, her two best friends were parents!

Lynpounce padded behind him, then sprinted forwards, over-taking her mate and tumbling into the clearing in front of the creek. Her tail flicked back and forth as she looked at Poisonhealer, panting quietly. Her eyes were bright as she circled around her mate, brushing her tail up his spine. "I have something very important to tell you, Poisonhealer.. Very, very important.." She murmured with a wide smile, curling her body around his as she nuzzled into his neck. "I hope you're ready for little yous to be running around.. " Her voice was soft as she continued to nuzzle his neck. Her tail flicked across his ears before she pulled away, standing in front of her mate, her tail twitching behind her as she watched him for a moment. "Congradulations. You're going to be a father" And with that, a wide smile spread across her features.

Taintedfaith gently nuzzled his mate's ear, murmuring soothing words in her ear as he tried to make her feel better. His eyes barely focusing on Midnightdawn as he attempted to make the she-cat feel better. His brows furrowed in concern as she emptied her stomach. He attempted to shift her away from the mess, stroking her cheek gently with his muzzle. His eyes shot up as he heard what the medicine cat had said. He glanced down at his mate then up at the other she-cat again, lowering his voice. "Are you sure? Its not just a stomach bug, is it?" He asked, both thrilled and terrified. Yes, Sapphirestar had said that she wanted his kits. But that didn't mean that he wanted her to suffer. And what if the other leaders learned of this? Or the Clan figured it out? What would they say. They knew he and their leader were mates, but shouldn't they knew better. Shaking his head, he pressed his muzzle against hers in a kiss, then opened his eyes to look down at her.

"We're going to be parents, Sapp.. Parents" The deputy murmured in her ear, tail flicking in excitement as he thought about the future kits. He would make up for not being a father to Silentpaw. He would know it was his child instead of not. A smile broke out across his face as he looked up at Midnightdawn, smiling at the medicine cat. He wondered how Silentpaw would have felt to be an older sister. It would be.. Exciting. Frightening, also. He was sure she would know what to do with them, but be nervous. He smiled at the thought, then returned to nuzzling his mate, still smiling.

Her eyes danced with pain as she lapped up the herbs placed before her. She shrugged and swollowed hard forcing the bitter mixture down. She looked up feeling her stomach church again, but for completely different reasons. She lifted her head and stared her eyes blank and her mouth agape. She looked into the sky for a moment then at Midnightdawn, letting her friends word's sink in. She turned to hear what Tain had to say but couldn't unde3rstand him. She was soaring above the clouds. She was going to be a mother. There were kits growing inside her. She let a purr erupt from her chest deep and gutteral. She flicked her ears and heard a faint screech from the forest but her mind was on her stoamch. That was why she had felt so sick, that is why she had felt fat and unattractive for days. She smiled lightly realizing her mouth was still open. She closed it and stood shakily to her feet. The herbs might have been working but she chalked it up to a new strength given her to protect these kits within her. She wanted to scream from the mountain tops she wanted to to climb the highest tree and shout for all the world to hear that she and Tain were going to be parents...Tain. She turned and looked at him, her blue eyes dancing with excitement and wonder. "Parents Tain..."[/color] Her voice cracked and she l;eaned against him her head churning with possibilities. With understanding and with promise of a new day. "We have ceremonies to hold..."[/color] She mewed and looked to the highstone. She kenw it would be an efrfort but she must hold the ceremonies and tell the clan...some would be angry, some bitter, but she was excited.

He skid to a halt beside the river and flicked his tail impatiently. He wasn't upset she had beat him, he just didn't understand it. He was willing to admit she was better than him at things, but not when she had gained as much weight as she had. He snorted and moved towward the river intending to fish. She came beside him sliding her tial along his spine and winding around him speaking softly and nuzzling his neck. He turned quickly and gave her a feirce look. "Well what is it? we have a clan to feed..." He mewed harshly but as her words hit him, his face changed. Percing greenishyellow gaze went from harsh to melting, and his fur, which had stood on end fell against his back. HIs mouth dropped open and his ears pricked up. He hadn't heard right, there was no way. Him a father? Who would have thought. Then as if by no power of his own he lifted his head and let a feirce shriek escape his lips. " We are going to be parents!"[/color] He knew then why she had gained weight and why she had been so confined to the den. He moved toward her and nuzzled her neck. "I love you Lynxpounce."[/color] He said and licked her cheek.
