[TANITEDFAITH]His paws skimmed over the land slowly, still having to take in his surroundings though they had been here for a few sunrises now. The wind whistles over his coffee-colored pelt, ruffling the edges and making him shiver. But not one from the cold. From excitment. As he stepped into the meadow, the deputy glanced back, watching as the apprentices, and Sapphirestar, padded in after. Sitting down on the edge, he curled his tail around his paws, shifting his damaged leg so that it lay more comfortable under him. "Alright, kids. Let's get a line in front of Sapphirestar and myself. We'll then chose who's going first to show us your stuff." Taintedfaith mewed, grinning as he felt his claws unsheath, then dig into the ground.
Oh, how he loved the young of the Clan. They amused him greatly. His gaze flicked over the apprentices as his ears moved around, catching any sounds that might alert him to danger. But everything was peaceful. For now. His tail tip twitched as he turned his golden gaze upon the leader, softening slightly before he moved his eyes away. What a secret. One that would shock the whole of the Clan if they found out. What a disaster that would be.
Shaking his head and pushing that thought away, the deputy sat silently, waiting for the apprentices to line up in front of him. His paws twitching in anticipation to what was going to happen. Assessments had always been something he enjoyed to watch. But with this came over things. He had to watch for mistakes, or things that would make the young vulnerable. A wonderful job, wouldn't you think?

(i'm assuming we're under the tree, |D and that we're opening a new pattern~) make the best of this test
-- He hated this meadow. Simply because there was only one tree. How was that suppose to work?
Fallpaw was thoroughly displeased with the choice of grounds. The ashwood forest would've been more convenient. Hey, any other place with trees.
Defiantly, the nearly white apprentice raced past Taintedfaith and the leader, leaped onto the tree behind them and quickly climbed it. He decided to appease them some, so climb dexterously out on a branch, as close as "in front" of them as he could get.
He could drop on any of them here. Start a little spar.
Wait. Why?
His fur sticking up slightly, the apprentice decided to get down. The urge seemed to great. Let himself fall out of the tree, landing with an ooph.
"Sorry," He apologized. Realized they probably didn't know why. They might figure he was trying to show off. In reality, Fallpaw didn't even know himself.

{Sapphirestar}
Vindicated I am wrong I am right I swear I'm right Her paws hit the ground in a soft thwap thwap thwap, and her tail was held high, her head strong and sturdy abover her shoulders. She padded through the forest toward the training meadow. Her and Taintedfaith had brought together a group of apprentices and had decided it was time for an assessment. She dipped her head under a branch and then quickened her pace as Taintedfaith slipped into the meadow. She fell in beside the apprentices and lifted her gaze to her secret mate, and deputy. Her sapphire blue eyes were focused on him, but her emotions were well hidden. She turned to watch as a white blurr flashed past her and up the tree behind her. She watched him come to the edge of the branch he was on and wait. It seemed he had the desire to leap at one of the apprentices below him, which wouldn't have hurt him, but would have probably harmed whomever she fell on.
She flicked her tail angrily and as he leapt toward the ground an appoligetic look on his face she turned back to hear Taintedfaith's words. "Alright, kids. Let's get a line in front of Sapphirestar and myself. We'll then chose who's going first to show us your stuff." she smiled slightly and lifted her tail as if to ask a question. "Can I go first oh great deputy?" She said and stood lifting her haunches elegantly from the ground. She didn't know what he would say or how he would react but she thought it time for some relaxation. She lifted her tail again and tilted her head ever so slightly, opening her mouth to speak, but being cut off by Fallpaw. She turned her ears catching his words, or rather...word, "Sorry,"
[/b] She nodded to him accepting the appology and turned looking at taintedfaith again, waiting for him to call out a move, or attack her. She flicked her ears forward and then back, her tail up and then she crouched in a defensive position to wait. Strawberyypaw's pale ginger paws were shuffling nervously. He hated it when he had to perform for others. It made him nervous and he did things wrong, so no one over saw what he was capable of. Maybe it was his time to show them. Don't go first, dont go last'He tried to calm himself as he watched Fallpaw jump out of the tree. He would only get laughed at if it were him climbing trees during a battle training sessiion. So what though? Who cared? Life is for living. Strawberrypaw glanced around, checking the surroundings, the advantages, the opponesnt. He tried to take in Taintedfaith's potition, posture and watched his movements closely as he took on his clan mates. His blue eyes danced like the fire in his flaming pelt as he scanned anything which could prove to be advantageous or disadvantageous to him. Strawberrypaw's eyes lokced on the towering tree and tensed his back legs. He leapt for the tree, expertly putting to practise his self-created more, twisting just before he reached the bark, then pushing off it aging, landing with all four of his paws on his deputy's back. He half smiled - half snarled, and shifted his front paws around to Taintedfaith's face, 'scratching' away at his eyes with sheatthed paws. He reached down to bite at his neck, but only briefly grabbed at his scruff before sliding off and breathing heavily shook the dust from his fur. 'I'll go first Taintedfaith' He smiled slightly as he said it, it was a reply almost idetical to what his sister Cascadingpaw would have said and done. He sat back and licked at his paw waiting for TAintedfaith's response. Words: 296 Muse: 'Blaze of glory' Bon Jovi For: The other apprentices and the punch bag =] Notes: That was fun to write. Can you tell I just got back from karate?

russian roulette is not the same wihtout a gun
-- Was it unjust for him to be angered at Strawberrypaw's actions? The ginger apprentice was trying to shine spotlight onto himself. It confused and upset Fallpaw. It was a reflection of his own immature behavior, showing off. The white tom couldn't help but feel that Strawberrypaw had cut off his attention.
He tried not to dwell on it. Sat still, eyes focused vaguely between the leader and deputy. Furry tail swept across the ground behind while his mind churned.
Why should he feel jealous? This was a chance for them to display all that they had. The apprentices were suppose to all show off, right?
Orange ears suddenly pricked at the faint sound shuffling and his thoughts scattered. Green-orange eyes looked at the seemingly preoccupied bunch. "Excuse me," Nearly did he whisper, before drawing close to the ground and back away.
It was a distraction he was looking for. Locked on to a small, naive bird, Fallpaw delicately approached his target. Anxiously pawed the ground as he tightened in his crouch, preparing for his pounce. He grinned when he leaped through the air, catching the bird in mid-take-off, managing to get a claw onto the wing.
The tawny bird desperately flapped it's wings while falling. The tom pounced onto the maimed bird, claws sheathed. While making a raucous, the bird pecked and nipped at Fallpaw's paws but did no damage. Smiled all the while he watched the bird's useless fight for life.
And when that fight left, Fallpaw snapped the bird's spine in his jaw and returned back to the tree with it dangling.

taintedfaith -- !Taintedfaith chuckled as he watched the three of them, including Sapphirestar, sit in front of him. His gold eyes sparkled slightly before he stood, lowered himself into a crouch, then launched himself at one of them. Of course, he landed on his mate, pinning her down and licking her over the ear, away from the two younger cats. "Your suppose to be helping me, love" He whispered, then bounded off the she-cat, turning towards Strawberrypaw and Fallenpaw.
"Fallenpaw, Sapphirestar's gonna take you. Strawberrypaw, it seems that you'll be stuck with me" The deputy said, winking at the other tom, then starting towards the opposite side of the clearing, paws padding lightly on the ground as his tail flicked back and forth. "A lovely day, isn't it? Great for hunting.." A thought occurred to him then, turning back towards Sapphirestar and Fallenpaw.
"And that just gave me a brilliant idea. Wait here a second, son" He mewed, then bounded back towards the leader. "It just occurred to me how ideal it is for hunting. Let's set this two up on a test"
