Name : Cascadingkit
Gender : female
Age : 2 moons approx.
Clan : GC
Rank : kit
Description: Cascadingkit is a small, thin kit with entirely black fur which is glossy but not much. She literally looks like a tiny scrap of very slightly-fluffy black fur...until she turns around. Then you see her big eyes. They're electric blue, brighter than anything you've ever seen, and enhanced by the inky darkness of the rest of her features. They seem to burn through you, and you're about to look away instinctively when suddenly she's gone; faded shyly into the shadows that hide her completely.
Even when she's gone, though, those eyes stay like sunspots burned into your eyelids - you've never seen anything like them. Beneath them, beneath the shyness, is a strength you didn't think possible in a kit of that age. Especially in a kit who has lost mother, father, and the attention of her siblings. A kit who seems virtually alone in the world, who was born in the middle of a storm as the world cam crashing down around her, who was raced through the freezing cold and rain away from the flood of deadly water into an unknown territory. She never saw the original camps or territories. She doesn't really feel like she has a home - but she is content wandering. And she has faith in StarClan - a strong faith, for a kit, knowing that her mother, father, and two siblings are up there, watching her. Secretly she pretends to talk to them in her head when no one else is listening, and sometimes she thinks she hears something, the faintest whisper of comfort, in return, but she knows it's nothing. It's just a way to convince herself she's not as alone as she really is. She also likes to hang around the medicine cat apprentice, Silentpaw, and Midnightdawn, and watch them work. Unwittingly she is following very close in the footsteps of a young cat once called Ravenpaw...
Personality: Cascadingkit is very, very shy. THe though of cats watching her or being the center of attention literally sends her into convulsions. If you look at her for too long, she will run. But though her shyness is the most immediately-obvious part of her personality, it is not the biggest part or the most important. She is very kind and generous, and extremely intelligent...if you can reach her. SHe is also very imaginitive; she lives in another world most of the time, a world in which she is able to do amazing brave things for her clan, and more importantly, face their congratulations afterwards...so many cats...
She was the first born, and she doesn't know it but her mother charged her with taking care of her brothers and sisters. It seems the other way around, except that they ignore her all the time. At some point they'll realize how much they need her, but for now she's a self-induced outcast. The very first experience of her life was one of terror: being carried at top speed throught he forest of loner-land only minutes after being born, racing against time to beat the cold and the flood.
History: Cascadingkit is one of several siblings born to dead parents. Her mother, Nightshawl, died giving birth at the gathering when the flood came. She doesn't have much of a history because she never interacts with anyone, really. Her siblings are all outgoing and a bit rambunctious, and generally ignore her.
Relationships: Mother-Nightshawl(dead), Father- Elmpelt(dead), Siblings- Hauntkit, Owlkit, Strawberrykit, Pikakit, Oakkit
Role-Play: Cascadingkit pressed herself against the wall of the nursery as her loud brother pushed in through the entrance, calling back, "Let me just check, Strawberrykit!" He took no notice of his sister, and her thin, lithe body was slender enough that she could avoid him completely as he passed by. "Mother!" His voice was obnoxious, pushing in on her thoughts. "Mother, can we play hunting behind the nursery?"
Cascadingkit wasn't sure why he was bothering to ask. He'd do it anyways.
"Most certainly not! You know kits aren't allowed outside the camp!"
"But mom," his voice was a whine. Cascadingkit squinched her blue eyes tight, trying to shut him out. What has she been thinking about? Oh yes, her great exploits as a warrior... "Some of the apprentices are there. We';; be right by the wall."
"No, Hauntkit."
"Ugh, fine."
He turned and pushed back through the ferns. His eyes caught the electric flash of hers. "Oh...hi, Cascadingkit." He pushed past her again, turning suddenly back. "Um, did you want to come?"
She pressed herself backwards, panic flaring in her eyes. She hated being around so many other kits, and especially if there would be apprentices around. They were all so loud and rambunctious. Why couldn't they stop and think once in a while? She always felt so naked sitting in the middle of even a small group of cats. It always felt like they were all looking at her.
She floundered for some excuse. "Mom said no." Mousebrain. That sounded like she was a coward. She wasn't a coward. Just...shy. Careful. Cautious. But not a coward. She'd prove that someday.
He snorted. "Whatever."
She heard his low voice just outside, out of sight. "Come on. But don't say anything. Butterflypaw and some of the others are meeting us outside at sunhigh."
She saw their shadows moving across the bright, packed earth. It was so warm lately. As soon as they were gone, she crept out into the sunlight and followed them, stopping just inside the bramble wall. SHe could see bits and pieces of their pelts through the leaves, and hear their chatter. But they couldn't see her. Back to her dreams.
Some day she'd be a clan hero. She could see herself sitting atop the high rock as the leader told the clan how she'd fought off an entire enemy patrol. A smile crept over her features as she heard the clan's cheers and felt the warm sun on her fur. But then she felt the prickle of so many eyes on her dark fur and her electric eyes filled with terror and she panicked, leaping off the rock, away from all the cats - a nearby voice jerked her back.
"Hey, kit! Move over - I can't get through." It was Butterflypaw. "Hey, aren't you Hauntkit's sister? Are you coming with us?"
She pressed herself into the brambles, her blue eyes wide.
"Either come or get out of the way. It's nearly sunhigh!"
She bolted.
