Picture - X
Name - Cirquefoot
Gender - Tom
Age - 30 moons
Clan - Iceclan
Rank -Warrior
Description -Most cat's first impression of Cirquefoot is that they wouldn't want to fight him. He's average sized, but with a long, powerful body. The thick ruff of fur around his neck is reminiscent of a Lionclan warrior - he doesn't look like a cat you want to cross. His shoulders are broad and powerful, and his neck is very muscular - his jaws can clamp down with a bite nearly as fierce as a badger's. His tail is long and bushy like a fox's.
Cirquefoot has slightly slanted, greenish-yellow eyes. When in a bad mood, his gaze can send a shiver down a brave warrior's spine. They become cold and dangerous, and seem to gleam in anticipation of bloodletting. Even when they're sparkling with amusement, the have a wild cast to them, almost lynx-like.
His large, heavy, tufted paws hide strong, tough claws. Cirquefoot sharpens them often, keeping them impossibly sharp for such large, rather than slender, nails. His broad feet keep him from sinking into deep snow and give him an edge when hunting.
Cirquefoot's coat itself is a very light ginger tabby, making him look even more like a lion. His belly, legs, chest and paws are even lighter, almost white. During New-leaf, half his pelt falls off and leaves him looking considerably smaller, and certainly much sleeker. His winter pelt isn't woolly, just very thick.
Personality - Cirquefoot's personality does not correspond at all with his appearance. He is playful and friendly, and almost immature. He is almost constantly laughing about something. If something bad happens, Cirquefoot is almost guaranteed to laugh it off.
He doesn't sit still for very long either. Cirquefoot commonly takes of in any direction, including up; he is an excellent climber. If he had it his way, he'd spend most of his time in a tree, enjoying the view, but there aren't many birds stupid enough to land on a branch right next to a cat.
In spite of his wild, fun-loving personality, Cirquefoot isn't an idiot. He actually can pay attention; he just doesn't really enjoy doing that as much as, say, (playfully) making fun of his clanmates. He's actually very intelligent and a quick learner. He would rather talk things out than fight, but that doesn't mean he's no good in battle. He'd die to protect his clan.
If there's one thing Cirquefoot isn't, it's mean-spirited. He would never say anything to purposefully hurt one of his clanmates, and detests any cat who would. He doesn't judge others, and has no qualms about becoming friends with a cat who is generally treated like an outcast.
History -
A long way from the clans, in the mountains, a pair of loners, Splash and Hiss, had a litter of kits. Splash gave birth in a large cirque at a high altitude - there were no trees, just mosses, lichens, and a few gnarled bushes. The five kits were born in a crack between two boulders, one of the few places his parents could find out of the driving wind. The kits had come early; after being chased by a wolf, their mother went into labor, though the kits shouldn't have come for at least another quarter moon. One kit, never named, died before the sun went down. The other four survived and were named Mountain, Chinook, Flower, and Cirque. Flower, the only she-cat, and Cirque were the strongest of the two.
As the kits grew older, Flower emerged as the obvious leader, though Cirque was larger, and, amazingly, more mature. His parents relied on him to keep his littermates out of trouble while they went hunting. This system worked well until the day his world fell apart. The day was in the frozen grip of leaf-bare, and the snow was very heavy on the ground. At around four moons of age and already covered in thick fur, they were playing a ways outside their den. There was a massive cracking noise, and the next thing they knew, they were under fox lengths of snow. Cirque dug himself out to find himself all alone on a sparkling white expanse, and his siblings gone. The tom began digging, and soon uncovered Chinook. The tom was half frozen and barely breathing, but alive. He licked his brother's fur back wards to dry it out, and continued his frenzied search, but his next find was what he had dreaded to see. It was Flower and Mountain, curled up together, dead.
Cirque stayed where he was for a while, waiting for his parents to return, but since he couldn't get down to the den he had to find shelter. He and Chinook went off in the direction his parents had gone in, but found no one. Splash and Hiss were dead.
In the face of his family's death, Cirque couldn't stand to stay in the old territory. He left, not followed by Chinook, who had been by the avalanche and was going to die soon. The light ginger tom went south, determined to turn over a new leaf and start a new life. Used to helping weaker cats, he joined a clan and was given the name Cirquefoot. He had put his past behind him and is not letting it stop him live life. It was so long ago that he doesn't really think about it anymore.
