Name - Midnightdawn
Gender - She-cat
Age - 24 moons
Clan - Glacierclan
Rank - Medicine Cat
Description - Stricken with a black pelt, this cat looks as if she were covered in tar then scratched with snow. Her white stripes are purer than snow, and hardly ever stay dirty. Her black pelt is covered in long forgotten scars. Midnightdawn has little ears that catch every conversation near her. Her long fangs can tear across any pelt, and leave a nasty wound. Her long back claws make of her rather short front claws. They are an unusual colour of black, and they turn red with the blood of her enemies that she scratches. Her amber coloured eyes are soft and calm. Even through the toughest of times, she can stay calm. Her front left paw is missing a claw, but that doesn’t mean she can’t fight. It does make her limp every once in a while, but that’s from the injury she took when it got ripped out.
Personality - Midnightdawn knows how to make a cat laugh. She loves to be around other cats and she loves to be on patrols. Her favourite thing to do is to hunt. She hunts by night a lot. It’s her favourite time of the day. She is not a cat to mess around with. If you make her mad, watch out. Her iron clad claws are vicious, but she is usually happy. With the death of her brother, she was sad, but stayed clam for her clan. She is also a calm, collected cat, and loves to make new friends and keep them. She also loves to play with kits, but never wanted her own.
History -
Kithood
Midnightkit was a rather bouncy kit. She loved to play and have fun with her siblings. But, she grew up too quickly.
Apprenticeship
Midnightpaw was sad to leave the nursery and her mother. But she knew she had to be an apprentice and made the best of it. Her mentor, Windfur, her mentor, was the medicine cat, and a good mentor. They trained from dawn until sunset every other day, and soon, Midnightpaw would be ready to be a medicine cat. But that day came too slow.
The day before her ceremony, she fell off a rather steep, but small cliff. She tore out a claw and limped back silently. She bit back tears, and as she was alone, she had no help. She couldn’t shout out for help, because it hurt too much to talk. So she quietly walked back and collapsed in the camp. A trail of blood showed where she came from, and Windfur grabbed her and brought her to the den. She knew she wasn’t going to die, but it was scary. Windfur patched her up, and they had to delay her ceremony several days. Her siblings were already warriors, and Midnightpaw had to watch them. It pained her not to be with them, but she knew her ceremony was to be soon. Several days later, at the Mooncave, Windfur held her ceremony, and she was made into a true medicine cat.
Medicine Cathood
Midnightdawn was a proud medicine cat, working with her former mentor, Windfur. She helped many cats, and watched many being born, loving to be alongside her mentor. As she grew more, she watched plenty of death happen around her. She watched one sibling be stolen by an enemy clan that needed to be driven from the forest. A few days later, she found his body lying in a stream, sleeping peacefully. She carried his body back for mourning. But as she woke the next morning after his burial, someone had shouted that his grave had been dug out, and he was gone. She had cried plenty of times, but that time, she had to regain control. She had shouted out to calm everyone and just thought it was Avalancheclan taking his body. No one spoke of it again. A moon later, another sibling died of Blackcough. As she visited her, she caught Greencough and almost died herself. When she was better, she looked around and realization hit her. Her two siblings were dead. She was an only child. Then, her parents both died of an age-related death. And she was left, alone. But she pulled through, and is all better now. Not for long though. This she-cat seemed to lose everyone she grew close to. Her mentor, Windfur, disappeared, and she was left to control the clan of its needy sicknesses and injuries. She works for Starclan, and holds no more personal friendships with anyone... For now.
Relationships - Chickenscratch- Brother, deceased?
Tiltedrain- Sister, deceased.
Redstep- Father, deceased.
Blueclaw- Mother, deceased.
IC - Midnightdawn was padding down the stream’s bank, watching the water. Golden fur blocked the water’s path. Curious, she reached over to have a look. What she saw almost made her fall over. It was her brother, Chickenscratch. Though he looked like he was sleeping, she thought he was dead. So she picked up his body, and carried him home. The clan watched in shock and grief as she made her way through the camp to the middle of the clearing. Then, she arranged his body just so, and raced to Hauntstar’s den, and told him what had happened. Then her sister and her parents stepped out of their dens and came to sit vigil with him. Midnightdawn couldn’t help it. She rarely cried, and when she did, it was from laughter, but this time, she cried silently of grief for her brother. He was dead. The she-cat raised her head to the sky and silently pleaded with them to not take any more of her family.
That plea was not filled. A few moons later, the she-cat was hunting with her parents, and a baffled expression covered her eyes as she saw two cats slunk out of the undergrowth. She recognized them, but she couln't put her claw on it. Then it clicked. I was Jester and Cricket! They were two of the most vicious rogues in the land! The she-cat leaped squarely on top of them, but was thrown off. They laughed hysterically and attacked her parents. She lay in the bushes, unconcious. She woke hours later, to hear cries of grief, and her body being lifted. She wiggled her head around, and saw to bodies being carried behind her by other cats. The tails dragged in the dust. It was her parents! Midnightdawn howled with grief. Noo! she cried. She wriggled out of the cats' hold, and ran to their sides. They couldn't be dead! Midnightdawn held her ear to their side, but could hear no heartbeat. They were dead. She fell to the ground, her injuries knocking her out again.
When she awoke, she was beside her parents, mourning for them. She shook her head, and the blurred vision came into focus. Elders came and picked up the bodies, and she followed to bury her parents. Two of the clan's most noblest warriors, dead. She shook her head and helped dig the hole and lower them in.
Five seasons had passed since the death of her parents. The she-cat was happily trotting through the territory, on a searching for herbs, when a warrior, Snowfur, raced to her. Hauntstar is asking for you. She meowed. Midnightdawn dipped her head and raced back to camp, cheerfully. She padded into his den, and smelled the taint of sickness. Noo... She thought. She nosed her way in and saw Blizzardclaw and Hauntstar together. He nodded to her to sit down. Midnightdawn... The clan... Needs a loyal warrior... To lead them... He meowed hoarsely. Midnightdawn shook her head. Nonsense. Windfur taught me everything. I can make you all better. She soothed. But Hauntstar quieted her once more. Sapphirephoenix would be the perfect leader. Remember that. Now, send her to me. He meowed. And no herbs.. I know I will die. Midnightdawn froze at the last word. Die? He can't! She raced out, grief overwhelming her. She called to Sapphirephoenix then disappeared into her den.
