x. Doubts in her thoughts have begun casting... A pair of delicate green eyes glanced left and right, scanning the rows of herbs and pausing and pondering at the less familiar ones. Castingpaw sighed as she couldn't recall the name of one of the trickier herbs. It's so hard remembering all of this, I wonder if Damppaw, no, Dampcloud ever had to remember this much... she thought, a pang of sorrow shot through her heart as she remembered her friend was a warrior now. He had his warrior name, and was busy with warrior duties. Will he have time for me anymore? She hadn't seen much of him since his warrior ceremony, and even then so many cats surrounded him she could hardly talk. She gave up on remembering the herb, her mind too clouded with thoughts of her friend.
She limped toward her nest, stopping for a moment as a small pain came from her leg. When she reached her nest she lay and rested with her leg as outstretched as it would go, leaning on it was getting increasingly painful. Would I be a warrior now if it wasn't for my leg? Castingpaw had never dreamed of a warriors life, she had always wished to be a medicine cat so she could help her clan mates in such a rewarding way, healing wounds always seemed more appealing that inflicting them on other cats to her. But once the possibility of sprinting through the forest to catch pray for her clan, or taking part in the fiercest battles with speed, precision and strength she felt a strange longing for it. She often heard the warriors talking about their great moments, fascinating stories that many cats would gather to hear. The most interesting story Castingpaw had to tell is that she healed a rat bite once... I'd probably bore Dampcloud to death now... he'll definitely want warrior friends, not a medicine cat apprentice who can't even walk properly... Her ears drooped as she sighed and shifted to a more comfortable position in her nest. ...shadows on her dreams .x

"Mouse dung!" Came a cry from the clearing. Patchpaw had stepped on a thorn and was now hopping comically around. "Ow!" She stopped hopping and looked at her paw. She saw blood welling around it. "I'd better go see the medicine cats." She hopped on three legs over to the medicine den. Sticking her head inside, she called, "Anyone home?" Then she hopped in and sat down, raising up her paw so she wouldn't drive the thorn in any deeper.
She looked around and saw Castingpaw. She looked sad. "Hey Castingpaw! What's the matter?" She got up and hopped over, and sat down in front of her nest. "You okay?" She tilted her head to the side and looked at her. "You shouldn't be glum. Your position in the clan is something most cats can't even touch. The only thing we can hope for is fighting for our clan, and maybe being leader. But you get to be the medicine cat! That's even higher than a leader!" She smiled at Castingpaw.

Wildshadow was alssep in the back of her den when she heared the cry. She opened one eye and noticed Patchpaw limping in. The she-cat pushed herself up with a mighty heave and padded over to the apprentices. I wouldn't say that medicine cats are high than the leader, maybe joint top, mewed jokingly. She inspected the paw looking too see how deep it had gone. It doesn't seem too bad, but we should clean it up, she mewed soft
Wildshadow glanced through the corner of her eye at Castingpaw. She padded up to her and smiled. I think you'd be able to do this one with ease my young apprentice, would you like to? She tiltd her head. I'm pretty sure your friend would be hapy to see you in action, right Patchpaw? Wildshadow mewed turning to the bleeding apprentice. The small thorn look deeper than she's estimated.

[[Gah... sorry this ones a little bad D:]]Castingpaw raised her head as the scent of blood wafted into the medicine cats den, closely followed by Patchpaw. I wonder what's happened... she thought with worry. "Oh, i'm fine Patchpaw, don't worry about me" she mewed with a smile to hide her sorrows. Her mentor had stirred before the other apprentice could reply and took a look at her paw. ...would you like to? Castingpaw nodded slightly and began to inspect the thorn. Using her teeth, she gripped the top of the thorn and pulled it out swiftly. "Sorry if it hurt... ummm... you should just keep the wound clean and lick it, it shoudl heal on it's own...?" she left her statement as a question to Wildshadow, doubting her own knowladge. I probably got it wrong... she thought gloomily again, but Patchpaw's words came to her mind, making her smile a little. She was almost glad this apprentice got the thorn in her paw.

Patchpaw smiled at Wildshadow. "Yeah, Castingpaw! Make my paw better, please!" She held it out to Castingpaw and waited. She gritted her teeth, and once the thorn came out, it felt much better. "Thank you so much!" She licked it. "It feels so much better!" She smiled.
"Hey Castingpaw, would you like help collecting herbs? I've got nothing else to do, and I'd like to hang out with a friend." She smiled, then looked up at Wildshadow. "O-only if that's okay with you." She quickly added, wondering if she would be okay with it.
Patchpaw looked back at Castingpaw and smiled. "As long as you're okay." She answered to Castingpaw's first remark.
ooc;;// Man, this sucks, sorry.

Wildshadow sat watching her every move. She picked up the thorn and threw where it wouldn't do any harm and then padded back in. She lay next to the apprentices and listened to Castinapw's words. She nodded and glanced at the cobwebs. Maybe a little something to stop any infection aswell? She mewed softly, leaving it a open question so that Castingpaw could consider the question and think what would work.
Thornclaw padded into the medicine cat den looking quite sorry for herself. She plonked herself down next to Wildshadow and sat staring at Castingpaw. Come on kiddo, this one's easy even I know it She murmured slightly in a hiss. She wanted to talk with Wildshadow about her son's deafness but was too shy to say such things infront of others.
Wildshadow gave the queen a scoulding look. She looked back at Patchpaw and smiled That would be wonderful, I need to restock. Castinpaw know the best palces for the herbs aswell, but be careful. Maybe you should ask if any other errends need to be done while you're out, like hunting for the elders She mewed softly. She leaned over to Patchpaw and mewed in a low tone so Castingpaw wouldn't hear Can you teach her to hunt, I think she want to Wildshadow smiled softly and wrapped her tail around her paws.

[[Gahhh, another bad post... Sorry D:]]Castingpaw thought for a moment then answered. "A herb like Marigold could help to prevent infection, but because it's on a pad it could be harder to stay on, so by keeping the wound clean It should be OK right?" she answered hopefully. "And I'd love to go looking for herbs with you Patchpaw!" She smiled even more and waited for her mentor to reply with an answer. I suppose it's not that bad being a medicine cat... She glanced at her leg when no one was looking again and the feeling of loss returned quickly. Even if she was going to be a medicine cat, at least she could run when she had four healthy legs.
She hardly noticed Thornclaw's entrance because she was focusing on remembering the answer, but her presence suddenly same to Castingpaw, making her look up and wonder. "Is there something wrong Thornclaw?" she asked, her mew was soft and kind.

Patchpaw smiled and nodded at Wildshadow. She nudged Castingpaw. "Thanks for the help. Now come on! Let's go find some herbs!" She padded to the entrance and flicked her head. "Let's go!" She had to back up quickly though, when Thornclaw came in. "Oh, hi, Thornclaw!" She backed up closer to the wall. "Hey Castingpaw, I think she wants to talk to Wildshadow." She had seen the look in Thornclaw's eyes, and she knew that look. When she was around her dad, and her mom wanted to talk to him alone, that was the look she had. Patchpaw shook her head. "Come on, Castingpaw, the herbs will have wilted waiting for you!" She joked lightheartedly, and threw her another smile.
ooc;; Gahhhhh fail. Sorry.

[[And once again... a bad post DX I can't think creatively lately. Oh and can you start a thread looking for the herbs Ginger? It would make more sense for Patchpaw to get there first]]
Casitngpaw glanced sideways at Patchpaw, still a bit worried about Thornclaw. Wildshadow will take care of it I guess... she bounded after her friend as fast as her legs would take her. "The herbs won't have wilted! They'll be bursting at full bloom when they know i'm coming because i'm so lovable!" she joked back, her feelings rising the more she stayed around Patchpaw. Thank you so much... she thought, too embaressed to say it out loud. Thank you for being my friend she padded out of the den, with one last glance at her mentor and Thornclaw as they chatted away and reminded her that they were close friends. I was worrying too much... of course warriors can be friends with medicine cats... she thought to herself re assuringly as they head for the exit, but a sharp twinge of doubt still tugged at the back of her mind.
